Tuesday Trivia

TODAY’S TRIVIA: Yesterday, American Conner Mantz placed 4th at the 129th Boston Marathon in 02:05:08 (~4:46 per mile).

That time is the second-fastest marathon time ever by an American.

Who is the only American man to run faster at the Boston Marathon?

Hint: This man ran 2:04:58 at Boston in 2011.

Technically speaking, the Boston Marathon, while prestigious, isn’t a record-eligible course because it is a “point-to-point” course with a drop in elevation (Boston is a net-downhill by about 459 feet).

Either of those points would make it ineligible for a legitimate record.

The American record is technically 2:05:38 set by Khalid Khannouchi at the London Marathon in 2002

Yesterday’s Trivia: Lee Corso was a cornerback at FSU and held the all-time interceptions record (14), which he held until Deion Sanders tied him almost 2 decades later
