NBA Draft Prediction

TODAY’S TRIVIA — The Atlanta Hawks are on the clock.

Round 1 of the NBA Draft begins tonight at 8pm ET on ABC/ESPN at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Round 2 is Thursday starting at 4pm ET on ABC/ESPN.

This draft is widely considered a weaker one when it comes to pure star power, but it will feature several high-end role players.

One exciting thing is that it is very unclear who will be the first overall pick (unlike past years where there was a clear number 1 overall).

Who will the Atlanta Hawks draft at 1st overall?

My thoughts: I believe that the Hawks really want to draft Donovan Clingan first overall, but Zaccharie Risacher offers more upside, so he will be my pick.

My prediction: Zaccharie Risacher

Info on these top 6 players below.

Yesterday’s Trivia: The fake MLB series is the Cardinals v Royals: “Red River Rivalry” is a college football rivalry game between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns. It’s name comes from the Red River, which is on the border between Oklahoma and Texas.

The Cardinals v Royals is called the “I-70 Series,” the highway separating the two states.

Top prospects according to ESPN and some intel from me:

  1. Zaccharie Risacher | 6-8, 204 pounds | SF | France

Worked out for the Hawks last week and likely has the most upside in the draft. He is a versatile wing with plenty of upside and youth (19 years old). He is likely the favorite to go first overall.

  2. Alex Sarr | 7-1, 205 pounds | PF/C | Australia

Early on, Sarr was considered the favorite to go first overall, but he has not worked out with the Hawks and appears to be linked to the Wizards at 2. He needs some additional work on his offensive game but can be an elite rim protector for any defense

  3. Donovan Clingan | 7-2, 280 pounds | C | UConn

Can be an elite defender and has been linked to the Hawks' coaching staff. He was vital to the UConn national title team and is a dark horse to go first overall.

  4. Reed Sheppard | 6-2, 187 pounds | PG/SG | Kentucky

An excellent shooter and gritty defender for the Wildcats. He has not been linked to the Hawks but will likely hear his name called in the top 5

  5. Matas Buzelis | 6-9, 212 pounds | SF/PF | G League Ignite

A versatile wing player who might offer the highest upside in the draft. He can play multiple positions and has a great feel for the game. He will need to refine many parts of his game to reach his full potential.

  6. Stephon Castle | 6-6, 215 pounds | PG/SG | UConn

A guard with elite size and is a stout defender. He has the superstar potential if he can develop a more consistent shot.

Thanks for playing. See you tomorrow.
