Monday Trivia

Another week, another weekly challenge.

Last week’s winner is announced below. Who’s winning this week?

TODAY’S TRIVIA: Pretty brutal that we had two Americans in the US Open finals and they both fell short.

Jessica Pugala fell to the hardest hitter in the US Open*, Aryna Sabalenka (7-5, 7-5), and Taylor Fritz lost to Jannick Sinner (6-3, 6-4, 7-5).

The Sinner win marks a full calendar year in which the big three (Federer, Nadal, Djokovic) did not win any major.

When was the last year that happened?

*Fun fact: Sabalenka (80 mph) had the highest average forehand in the tournament, ahead of Alcaraz (79 mph), Sinner (78 mph), and Djokovic (75 mph)

One hint today.

Yesterday’s Trivia: Andy Roddick lost to Roger Federer 5–7, 7–6(8–6), 7–6(7–5), 3–6, 16–14. Epic match.

We have a new winner this week! Congrats to our latest Champion, who answered all 5 questions correctly!

Winner: Kai Fiske!!

Runners up: Abbey Semel and Lucas Cartwright got 4 answers correctly.

So close. Better luck this week…

It’s the year before Federer won Wimbledon for the first time
