You know, it wasn’t the most eventful first weekend of March Madness (except that Maryland buzzer-beater last night was pretty sweet).

For the first time since 2017 (and only the 6th time since 1985), the top 4 seeds in each region advanced to the 2nd round. Also, the games across the board were filled with blowouts, which hopefully sets up some better matchups with more top seeds into the second weekend.

Many analysts believe that NIL and the transfer portal have contributed to this year’s top-heavy tournament. The bigger programs can essentially buy talent from the transfer portal like they never could in the past.

TODAY’S TRIVIA: After a 2-point loss to top seeds Florida, UConn failed to defend their back-to-back titles.

The Huskies rank 3rd all-time with 6 national titles…
