Draft Day Trivia
Happy Draft Day! Are you going to be watching the Kevin Cosner movie today too? That movie is not good but I can’t help but love it.
Trivia: The 2024 NFL Draft is live from Detroit at 8pm on ESPN. The NFL draft arguably has the biggest immediate impact on any of the four major sports:
The NHL and MLB draft picks typically require a couple of years before they are ready to compete in the top leagues
The NBA draft has a big impact, but it is heavily weighted towards the top 5 to 10 picks each year
The NFL draft picks can immediately impact a team’s season (look at the Texans and OROY C.J. Stroud from last year) and because rookie contracts are low, they can greatly influence a team’s salary cap
There are rumors that a record-tying 6 QBs could be taken in the first round including 4 in the top 10 picks.
The drama will likely start after the first pick, where the Bears are likely selecting USC QB, Caleb Williams. The Commanders are expected to select a QB and are deciding between Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and J.J. McCarthy.
Which one of these QBs was NOT selected 1st OR 2nd overall? |
Hints 1 and 2 below. Answer at the bottom.
Hint Number 1: This player was the third overall pick
Hint Number 2: They are no longer with the team that drafted them
Thanks for playing.
C.J. Stroud - Drafted in 2023 by the Houston Texans (2nd overall pick).
Joe Burrow - Drafted in 2020 by the Cincinnati Bengals (1st overall pick).
Kyler Murray - Drafted in 2019 by the Arizona Cardinals (1st overall pick).
Sam Darnold - Drafted in 2018 by the New York Jets (3rd overall pick).
Trevor Lawrence - Drafted in 2021 by the Jacksonville Jaguars (1st overall pick).
Zach Wilson - Drafted in 2021 by the New York Jets (2nd overall pick).
